Gospel Choir at Second Baptist Church of Germantown - Emanuel SC Tritbute
The Chancel Choir, under the direction of Mr. John R. Custis, has the greatest range of our musical groups, singing mostly classical and anthems but ranging to gospel songs by Richard Smallwood and the Mississippi Mass Choir. They do spirituals and contemporary arrangements, sing with organ or a cappella, and they minister every Sunday throughout the year except during the summer months. Their rehearsals are on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary.
The gospel choir ensemble, formed by Mr. Nathan Irwin-Diehl in the Winter of 2010. They sing contemporary Gospel music such as, “Perfect Praise,” “We Sing Praises To Our King,” and “Grateful.” They rehearse on Saturday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in the Upper Room, and they minister during worship services every second Sunday of the month.
Another new addition to the worship experience is our Praise Dance team which has blessed us on 4 occasions this year with inspiring dances to the Lord. They rehearse at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday mornings at the church.
Our youth music ministry during worship service sing African American Spirituals, Classical Hymns and traditional Hymns. Under the leadership and training of our Youth Musical Director Robbin L. Balfour-Austin it is a blessed delight to hear them.
